Those raids are an embarrassment and so far the President can’t explain why he can’t stop them. He didn’t have much of an answer, just that the borders needed strengthening (there has been a considerable sum spent already on those borders), and that Russia might have to look into creating a 'sanitary line' in Ukraine, whatever that means. The only moment he seemed slightly rattled was when he was asked about Belgorod and why cross-border raids were able to keep on happening. Of course, this was all carefully choreographed with questions which would have been cleared in advance by the Kremlin. That would depend on what Russia wants to achieve in the future, Putin said, musing on the possibility he might try to take Kyiv again. VIGINUM said it had identified 355 domain names pretending to be European media outlets, such as French daily newspapers Le Monde and Le Figaro. "No attempt at manipulation will distract France from its support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s war of aggression." In a strongly-worded statement in the report, VIGINUM said: "France condemns these actions, which are unworthy of a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Russia's embassy in France did not immediately comment on the allegations, which were detailed in a report released today, according to the Associated Press. The French agency responsible for fighting foreign digital interference, VIGINUM, said it has monitored the alleged operation since soon after Russia invaded Ukraine.įrance said it was not the only European country to be targeted. The French government also accused Russia of spoofing popular French websites and newspapers. France has accused Russia of impersonating its foreign ministry's website.
